WORKOUT 36 of 50 We filmed with Chimney Rock as a backdrop in Morrill County. It was a hot 100 degrees summer day. A lot of our ancestors passed by Chimney Rock on the trek out west hundreds of years ago. It served as a marker that one was on the right path westward. One of Tyler’s ancestors has a gravestone marker monument near where we parked.
During the filming, it was so hot that we had to move locations. Luckily there was a lone tree that provided shade. We had no idea Nebraska could get so hot. It was a very desolate place and had a small visitors center that my youngest and his older brother enjoyed looking at while we filmed.
